My background in not-for-profit management and legislative constituency office experience has taught me how to work with diverse perspectives, navigate complex issues, manage competing priorities, and turn ideas into action for you. I also understand the importance of transparency, accountability, and respectful collaboration.
I care deeply about the future os Saanich; it is important to protect our natural environment and strengthen our neighbourhoods by addressing housing affordability, transportation, accessibility, and the pressures facing families, students and working and retired people.
Perhaps most importantly, I'm ready to work for you. I will bring an independent voice, practical experience, and a strong connection to the community to Saanich Council. I believe residents deserve a councillor who listens, does the homework, and follows through.
My Story
I am a recognized community leader known for developing and guiding a strategic vision to achieve organizational goals. Following a lengthy career in Non-Profit management, I became the senior constituency advisor to the non-partisan office of the Saanich South MLA, acting as a liaison to ensure residents' concerns, feedback, or petitions are heard in the provincial legislature, and assisting with what can be a complicated process to navigate healthcare, disability assistance, WorkSafeBC, and ICBC systems.
I am a student at Royal Roads University and will complete my studies at Royal Roads University with a Master of Arts in Environment and Management and a certificate in Communications and Conflict Management in August, 2026.
With a reputation for involvement in the local business community and a dedicated commitment to it, she believes strategic partnerships encourage businesses to flourish. She strongly believes that when we come together to work in partnership, we not only build community but also benefit our organizations and achieve remarkable success.
Kathleen offers a unique blend of executive and not-for-profit insights, comprehensive team-building, and operational improvement that will lend itself well to the role of municipal councillor. She also supports local community efforts, as demonstrated by her 13 years as a volunteer with the Saanich Police Department, President of the Camosun Community Association, Board Director with Nature Victoria and volunteering with the Greater Victoria NatureHood, where she served as the lead writer and project manager for the NatureHood map distributed throughout Greater Victoria during the pandemic.
Her previous board experience includes, but is not limited to being a Governor on the Royal Roads University Board of Governors, Chair of the Governance Committee and member of the Executive with the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce Board, Chair of the Membership Committee while with then Tourism Victoria, Chair of the Governance Committee for the Victoria Esquimalt Harbour Society, and having served two terms on the Saanich Parks, Trails and Recreation Advisory Committee. Kathleen has additional board experience with the AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals), the National Board, and local chapter boards. She was both Chair and Committee Director of Greater Victoria National Philanthropy Day events and awards, and, finally, an environmental advisor to the National Shell Environment Fund. Additionally, Kathleen was proud to be a business mentor to a mentee for five years as part of the Prodigy Group’s Mentorship program run through the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce.
